Many people are calling me because they are hearing about pending layoff's in their firm and think they may be affected. Do not wait until you are laid off before you start searching for another job. You are more marketable while you are employed. If you are blindsided, so to speak, and had no warning of a pending layoff, start your search right away. People say, I figured I would take some time to travel etc. before I started a serious search. Or other people say, I was offered a position or two when I was first affected but now I have been out of work for months. Start your job search as early as possible. Interview with as many companies as you can and if and when you feel like and opportunity is a "good fit", go for it. It is a buyer's market and very competitive. If you are on the fence about interviewing with a particular organization, ask to do a phone screen first to see if it makes sense to meet with them. If you need some coaching, please visit my website which is www.bradfordcareerservices.com I have fifteen years of Recruitng/Coaching experience and may be able to help.
