Are you having trouble explaining why you tansitioned from one job to another , especially if you have had several positions within a short period of time. I recently presented a good candidate to a client who had reservations about even doing a telephone screen with my candidate. Some client's will say, if the candidate has had more than three jobs in the past five years, do not even bother sending their resume for consideration for a particular position. Some people are truly job hoppers and will never find a real home , so to speak. Others are simply victims of circumstance. It is really important to articulate the reason's for your job changes. It could possibly make or break a deal. Were you with a start up that ran out of funding ? Were you offered another position in a different part of the country but unable to relocate? Was your division eliminated ? After writing a letter to my client regarding a candidates transitions and coaching my candidate on how to handle different transitions, the client agreed to give my candidate an opportunity to speak with them. He received an offer letter last Friday. If you truly have good reasons for making job changes and need some coaching, visit my web site which is www.bradfordcareerservices.com

Many people are calling me because they are hearing about pending layoff's in their firm and think they may be affected. Do not wait until you are laid off before you start searching for another job. You are more marketable while you are employed. If you are blindsided, so to speak, and had no warning of a pending layoff, start your search right away. People say, I figured I would take some time to travel etc. before I started a serious search. Or other people say, I was offered a position or two when I was first affected but now I have been out of work for months. Start your job search as early as possible. Interview with as many companies as you can and if and when you feel like and opportunity is a "good fit", go for it. It is a buyer's market and very competitive. If you are on the fence about interviewing with a particular organization, ask to do a phone screen first to see if it makes sense to meet with them.
